Synopsis:
Ramy Ayari is a well-known young man in the Tunisian LGBT community, a key figure in activism there. In 2014, he founded the Without Restriction association to help people who have been expelled by their families and/or assaulted because of their sexual orientation or gender. In particular, the association enables them to attend safety training courses. Even after the Arab Spring, the situation of homosexuals in Tunisia remains particularly difficult. He came to live in Montreal as an asylum seeker 7 years ago, and is currently awaiting a decision on his application for residency. Behind the fighter and the humanist lies a colourful character. Gentle, glamorous, a perfectionist and very caring. In this documentary portrait, Ramy opens the door to one of his passions that he keeps to himself but which defines him so well: his love of plants.
Having a green thumb and growing plants can be a therapeutic and soothing activity. It makes an inescapable contribution to well-being. And Ramy understands this. They are a refuge for him, the obvious presence of good on this earth. What we must preserve at all costs and try to keep alive. Far from his own battles and committed speeches, he spends much of his time giving a great deal of love and energy to his little patch of greenery, a veritable protective cocoon. Through this unique portrait of this singular facet of his personality, we learn more about Ramy, his past, his path, his struggles, his ambitions and his dreams for the future.
